Whenever someone mentions Thanksgiving, you immediately think of turkeys, right? Right. Along with the other various filling entrees and side dishes – sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, ham, stuffing, etc. You get the point. Well I was in charge of desserts and I wanted to make them as healthy as possible. One idea came from Pinterest, of course! A Turkey Fruit Platter. It was great to have fresh fruit on the table for dessert, and I may or may not have eaten all of the strawberries. The great thing about this fruit platter is that it actually looks like a Turkey, so children, especially, will love it, and of course every adult in the room!
Turkey Fruit Platter
1/2 a Pear
1 Baby Carrot/Carrot Stick
2 Chocolate Chips
1. Place waffle pretzels on along the bottom of the platter.
2. Cut pear in half and place in center of platter. Cut carrot to make feet and nose. Cut three slits in the pear, where the eyes and beak would be. Place feet towards the bottom, and put the carrot beak and chocolate chip eyes into the pear.
3. Add strawberries around the pear, then add pieces of banana, and finally grapes.
4. Take plenty of pictures before everyone digs in!
