Sweet Crock Pot Apples

I’ve been craving sweets at night, so usually I satisfy my sweet tooth with a cup of cinnamon apple tea, but sometimes it’s better to have the real thing right? Well here’s a healthy way to enjoy apples for dessert. Tone It Up recently posted a recipe for Sweet Crock Pot Apples, which was perfect because I have a small crock pot that I had yet to use, and I was excited to finally pull it out of the cabinet and bake something sweet AND healthy. You can enjoy these apples over greek yogurt and granola for breakfast or over some ice cream at night!

Sweet Crock Pot Apples

Ingredients:

6 large pink apples – cut into quarters
1 Tbsp. pumpkin spice
2 Tbsp. coconut oil
1/3 cup of maple syrup
1 Tsp. of vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. of lemon juice
Dash of salt
1/4 cup raisins

Directions:

1. Cut apples into quarters, and set crock pot on low heat – place apples inside.

2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well – ensuring that each apple slice is covered well.

3. Cover and let cook for 2 hours on low heat, until apples are golden and tender.
